Fixing the Bad Posture through Stretching

 

The misalignment of spine and bad posture may lead to severe back and neck pain and harm your working capability. It should be a main concern of all to how to sit and stand well as many of the people don’t know that what a correct posture is. Whether you are standing or sitting, managing a perfect posture is vital to straighten the spine and make it support your back properly.

Good posture is required for physical fitness. It is not only essential for fitness but it also makes you look smart and attractive. It boosts the digestive health and enhancing the efficient functioning of the various body organs. It prevents backache and other spine related problems. It also resists gravity in standing and sitting positions. There are many ways to improve your posture and some of the important are briefly described here:
  • Back Stretches:
Gentle back stretching movements that work with the back and shoulders are perfect in order to maintain a correct posture. Yoga and Pilates are perfect options in this regard. Be accustomed to the particular exercise of your choice by performing it once in a day for a couple of weeks. Once you get comfortable of it increase the count to three times a day. Back stretches are not only good for relaxing your back but they also enhance the strength and flexibility of back muscles.
  • Avoid Long Sitting Hours:
Sitting on a chair for long hours is also one big reason of having bad posture that is common in people spending a large amount of time at an office table. It is important to properly place your elbows and keeps the back straight while sitting. Head should not lean forward and feet should be flat on ground. Getting up and moving around time to time is also vital to improve posture. Doing simple stretching exercises during these short walks is beneficial to relax back muscles.

It is recommendable to be aware of your posture throughout the day whether you are sitting or standing. A bad posture is too common in television watchers, desk job people, students and readers as they mostly not realize that they are doing it wrong. It is important to learn what a correct posture is. Learning about particular exercises and spend some time on improving your posture through exercises is needed to eliminate the risks of several disorders.
